With the help of multinational pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Nigeria appeared in global clinical trial map. Facilities donated by GSK, Lagos State University College of Medicine, (LASUCOM), gives first clinical trial site to Nigeria. LASUCOM was selected from 92 universities and 19 colleges of medicine in the bid to ensure the site conforms with international standard.

Officials say clinical trial work would start immediately in the new Centre with the recruitment of subjects to take part in an on-going global vaccine trial.
